The PVA sponge with m•doc™ is highly absorbent, being capable of absorbing up to 18 times its own weight in fluid. In addition, as it is presented in a compressed form on absorbing liquid it expands to fill the available area when wet which has the effect of applying pressure on the injury while releasing the m•doc™ to achieve faster haemeostasis.
